The Greene County Rams basketball teams lost both games to the Gilbert Tigers in Jefferson Thursday evening.
The girls lost 52-38. Kayla Mobley was the Rams’ high scorer with seven points. Marissa Promes and Jolee Wessling both scored six. “We had a tough night scoring. We also need to do a better job of defending,” coach Chad Morton said. “I was happy how we never gave up.”
The boys lost 68-48. Late in the third quarter, with Gilbert ahead 66-30 and the clock running continuously, the Tigers put in their reserves and the Rams were able to narrow the gap. Ram high scorer was Trey Tucker with 14 points. It was the fifth straight loss for the boys.
The girls are now 9-9 overall and 8-8 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. The boys are 5-12 overall and 4-11 in the HOIAC.
